STYLE: Pitt Fashion Business Association presents Go Pink in Style Fashion Show

Beyond adjusting your wardrobe for the brisk Fall air, buying new jackets and boots, and gathering ideas for your Halloween costume - October is a month is be decked out!! More-so it's a month to be celebrated; everyone is excited for that cool Fall "back-to-school' feeling, homecoming is celebrated, Columbus Day weekend, and of course Halloween. October is also an entire month dedicated to the awareness and concentration of breast cancer, those who have fought the battle, those who didn't make it, and those who are still fighting.

The Pitt Fashion Business Association decided  support this cause by celebrating it in style with a fashion show.  The show set at Diesel nightclub in the Southside, was to help benefit the Cancer Caring Center and bring general awareness to this cause.  The show began with the runway show featuring Free People, PINK by Victoria's Secret, and of course Pitt University.  After the show, a speaker came on to tell her story about her journey with cancer and how she was able to survive - a touching and very truthful dialogue. The night ended with a performance by local group SCR.  The entire show was genuine and above all fun! It was everything a fashion show should be and completely drenched in pink.  The Pitt Fashion Business Association knows how to put on a show!

Yvonne (aka my mom) spoke very truthfully about cancer and had a hopeful message to everyone.  She showed us her collection of beautiful scarf she wore during her illness, tied together like a rope.
