Last Sunday, Ashley and her fiance surprised us with a tree.
It sat undecorated all week long in the foyer, waiting to be decked out.
I'm happy to say, as of today, the lights are strung and the ornaments are hung!
In fact, it was a very productive day at Casa Arabian!
The porch says welcome, so come on in.
I'll give you a little Christmas tour.
As you can see, a trip to Costco yielded some enormous poinsettias for the pine cone urns.
They were selling a pack of 4 smaller poinsettias, perfect for the majolica urns in the living room. Of course I wanted white, but ended up settling for red. I'm just not a fan of poinsettias, so white ones are a little more palatable for me.
For the mantel, I tucked dried purple hydrangeas and pine cones in the branches of fresh fir garland.
Birch candles and bark covered pots with mini trees complete the mantel vignette.
I literally had no idea I would end up doing this, it just happened!
It's very rustic and compostable too!
Which is in keeping with my goal of a "green" Christmas.
I had the wood planks on hand already. They're actually mini grilling planks for barbecued meats!
I thought they make a nice surface for the little birch candles.
I also plan on using tree slices for the wedding decor!
Etsy is a great source for them by the way....
In the kitchen, I strung a tartan plaid banner from Target across the window.
This is as far as I got with decking the halls today!
Thank you for visiting!
I hope you enjoyed the tour.
Stay tuned for more decking the halls and fa-la-la-ing to come....
